I love sports and I enjoy many of them. The first sport is basketball. Basketball is a fast and exciting game. Two teams play against each other and try to score the largest number of points. Each team has five players on the court. The second sport is football. Football is one of the most common and oldest sports in the world. Each team has eleven players: ten players and a goalkeeper. I love sports because they keep us healthy and teach us how to work in a team.

أنا أحب الرياضة وأستمتع بممارسة رياضات كثيرة. أول رياضة هي كرة السلة، وهي لعبة سريعة وممتعة، يتنافس فيها فريقان ويحاول كل فريق إحراز أكبر عدد من النقاط، ويتكون كل فريق من خمسة لاعبين داخل الملعب. الرياضة الثانية هي كرة القدم، وهي من أشهر وأقدم الرياضات في العالم، ويتكون كل فريق من أحد عشر لاعبًا: عشرة لاعبين وحارس مرمى. أحب الرياضة لأنها تجعلنا بصحة جيدة وتعلمنا العمل بروح الفريق.

English text:
A flower is the part of the plant that makes the seeds. The main parts of a flower are the carpels and the stamens. These parts are usually found in the centre of the flower. There are egg cells in the carpel and pollen cells in the stamen. All flowers have four basic parts: sepals, petals, carpels and stamens. Different flowers have different numbers and shapes of these parts. Many flowers have important symbolic meanings in many cultures. For example, red roses are a symbol of love, beauty and passion.

الزهرة هي الجزء من النبات المسؤول عن تكوين البذور. تتكوّن الزهرة أساسًا من المدقة والأسدية، وغالبًا ما توجد هذه الأجزاء في وسط الزهرة. تحتوي المدقة على خلايا البيض، بينما تحتوي الأسدية على حبوب اللقاح. تمتلك كل الأزهار أربعة أجزاء رئيسية: الكأس، والبتلات، والمدقة، والأسدية، ويختلف عدد هذه الأجزاء وشكلها من زهرة لأخرى. وللزهور معانٍ رمزية مهمة في ثقافات عديدة، فمثلًا تُعد الورود الحمراء رمزًا للحب والجمال والشغف.

I would like to be a heart surgeon in the future. This is because I like to adapt to different situations and meet different people. I also want to continue doing research on new treatments. The surgeon can make a real difference in people’s lives. It is a very hard job with long working hours in hospitals, with doctors and nurses around you all the time. However, I will be proud to help sick people start a new life with healthy hearts. Therefore, I will study hard to get high marks and join the medical college to become a well-skilled surgeon.

أود أن أكون جرّاح قلب في المستقبل؛ لأنني أحب التكيّف مع المواقف المختلفة والتعرّف إلى أشخاص جدد، كما أرغب في الاستمرار في البحث عن علاجات جديدة. يمكن للجراح أن يُحدِث فرقًا حقيقيًا في حياة الناس، ورغم أن العمل شاق وساعاته طويلة في المستشفى، إلا أنني سأشعر بالفخر عندما أساعد المرضى على بدء حياة جديدة بقلوب سليمة. لذلك سأجتهد في دراستي حتى أحصل على درجات عالية وألتحق بكلية الطب لأصبح جرّاح قلب ماهرًا.

English text:
Environmental pollution has become a serious threat to mankind. It does not only affect humans but also threatens the lives of all living organisms and plants. This problem appeared as a result of industrial activities and the growth of the population over the years. Air, water and soil are polluted by smoke, chemicals and rubbish from factories and cars. Some chemicals have radioactivity and are very dangerous. We must work together to reduce pollution by using clean energy, recycling waste and planting more trees.

أصبح التلوث البيئي تهديدًا خطيرًا للإنسان، فهو لا يؤثر على البشر فقط بل يهدد حياة جميع الكائنات الحية والنباتات. ظهر هذا الخطر نتيجة الأنشطة الصناعية وزيادة عدد السكان عبر السنين، فتلوث الهواء والماء والتربة بدخان المصانع والمواد الكيميائية والقمامة وعوادم السيارات. وبعض هذه المواد ذات إشعاع نووي وتشكل خطورة كبيرة. لذلك يجب أن نتعاون للحد من التلوث باستخدام الطاقة النظيفة، وإعادة التدوير، وزراعة مزيد من الأشجار.

English is a useful and easy language, and I love it very much. It helps us in many things. If we travel to a foreign country, we can use English to understand people and talk with them. English is the first international language in the world and the language of science and scientific research. There is also a lot of interest in English media and books. Using English helps us to correct wrong ideas about Arabs and Arab-Islamic culture. It also helps in spreading the message of Islam and Arab culture. Finally, learning English helps us to become good citizens who defend the values of our nation and religion.

اللغة الإنجليزية لغة مفيدة وسهلة، وأنا أحبها كثيرًا. تساعدنا في أمور عديدة، فلو سافرنا إلى بلد أجنبي نستطيع استخدامها لفهم الناس والتحدث معهم. كما أنها اللغة العالمية الأولى ولغة العلوم والبحث العلمي، وهناك اهتمام كبير بالإعلام والكتب باللغة الإنجليزية. ويساعدنا استخدامها في تصحيح الصورة الخاطئة عن العرب والثقافة العربية الإسلامية، كما تسهم في نشر رسالة الإسلام والثقافة العربية. وأخيرًا يساعد تعلم الإنجليزية في تكوين مواطن صالح يدافع عن قيم وطنه ودينه.

The UAE is one of the Arab Gulf countries. It lies on the Arab Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It is bordered by Saudi Arabia and Oman. The capital city is Abu Dhabi. Oil industry is the main product of the country. The UAE has a population of about five million people. Islam is the main religion. The National Day is on the second of December. The area of the country is about 83,600 square kilometres. The UAE has sandy deserts, sand dunes and mountains. The weather is pleasant in winter and hot and humid in summer. The UAE is a picture of diversity in its natural features.

تُعَدُّ دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة واحدة من دول الخليج العربي، وتقع على الخليج العربي وخليج عُمان، ويحدّها من الجوار المملكة العربية السعودية وسلطنة عُمان. عاصمتها أبوظبي، وتُعد صناعة النفط من أهم القطاعات فيها. يبلغ عدد سكان الإمارات حوالي خمسة ملايين نسمة، والدين الرسمي فيها هو الإسلام. يحتفل الشعب باليوم الوطني في الثاني من ديسمبر. تبلغ مساحة الدولة قرابة 83600 كيلومتر مربع، وتضم مساحات واسعة من الصحاري والكثبان الرملية والجبال. يكون الطقس لطيفًا في الشتاء بينما يكون حارًا ورطبًا في الصيف. وتُعد الإمارات نموذجًا جميلًا للتنوع في مظاهرها الطبيعية.

Polluting the environment has become a serious problem in every country. There are many kinds of pollutants, such as smoke from cars and rubbish. Throwing waste in the sea causes water pollution. Cutting down forests and hunting wild animals destroys wildlife. I think that we should use unleaded petrol and fit cars with special filters to remove many harmful gases. Governments should make strict laws to ban polluting the environment. Finally, planting more trees will help us to solve many environmental problems.

أصبح تلويث البيئة مشكلة خطيرة في كل بلد؛ فهناك الكثير من الملوِّثات مثل دخان السيارات والقمامة، كما أن إلقاء النفايات في البحر يسبب تلوث الماء، وقطع الغابات والصيد الجائر يدمّر الحياة البرية. أعتقد أنه يجب علينا استخدام البنزين الخالي من الرصاص وتركيب فلاتر خاصة في السيارات لتقليل الغازات الضارة، كما يجب على الحكومات إصدار قوانين صارمة لمنع تلويث البيئة. وأخيرًا فإن زراعة المزيد من الأشجار تساعدنا في حل كثير من مشكلات البيئة.

Deserts are some of the hardest places to live. They are huge and cover about 40% of the world’s land area. Many deserts are full of sand dunes and oases. Some deserts have stones and rocks with no sand. The temperature in hot deserts is very high during the day and very cold at night. Only Bedouin people can live there. They use the camel as a means of transport. Many kinds of animals can live in the desert, like the camel, the fox, snakes and scorpions. In short, deserts are not the right place to live for many people because of the weather and the lack of water.

تُعَدُّ الصحاري من أقسى الأماكن للعيش؛ فهي مناطق شاسعة تغطي حوالي 40٪ من مساحة اليابسة في العالم. تمتاز كثير من الصحاري بالكثبان الرملية والواحات، بينما تتكوّن صحارى أخرى من الصخور والحجارة دون رمال. تكون درجة الحرارة مرتفعة جدًا نهارًا ومنخفضة ليلًا، ولا يستطيع العيش فيها إلا البدو الذين يعتمدون على الجمل كوسيلة نقل. ويوجد في الصحراء العديد من الحيوانات مثل الجمل والثعلب والأفاعي والعقارب. وباختصار، ليست الصحراء مكانًا مناسبًا للعيش لمعظم الناس بسبب قلة الماء وحرارة الجو الشديدة.

On school days I do not get a long free time because I have a lot of homework. I usually get two free hours every day. Then I can do what I like. I think that watching TV programmes is more interesting than playing video games. In my opinion, reading magazines and newspapers is also enjoyable. I like to spend my holiday with my family. We sometimes go together to the shopping centre or to the cinema. At the weekend, I prefer to visit my friend and spend a lovely time with her in her house.
